Students Sent Home For Wearing American Flag T-Shirts!

MORGAN HILL, Calif. - There is controversy at a Northern California high school, after several students were sent home for wearing clothes showing the American flag on Cinco de Mayo.

A group of boys went to school wearing T-shirts, shorts and shoes emblazoned with American flags.

One of their administrators told them Hispanic students were upset and were concerned a fight would break out. The boys refused to take the shirts off, so they were sent home.

Now, those students and their parents are blasting the school, saying they were only being patriotic.

"Our Hispanic vice principal was taking their side, and was thinking that we were being racist towards them, so he was discriminating against us, making us take off our stuff," said student Matthew Dariano.

The district disagreed with the principal's decision and says the American flag T-shirts are fine to wear to school.
