Bring It Home! “No Excuse” Not to Manufacture in U.S., Bob Lutz Says

By Stacy Curtin | Daily Ticker

America needs to get back to the basics of creating things of value and there is no better time than now, says Bob Lutz, former vice chairman of General Motors.

"There is a dawning awakening on the part of most Americans that we cannot maintain the wealth of the nation by being bond traders [and] lawyers," he tells Aaron in the accompanying interview. "At some point the country has to get back to work and create wealth through mining, agriculture or manufacturing."

In his new book, Car Guys vs Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, Lutz makes the case for why there is now a "historic window of opportunity" for the United States to regain is leadership as the world's top manufacturer and exporter.

He gives three key factors:

Sobered Unions: "[There's] a new sense of realism on the part of the unions that boy, if you over milk the cow she is going to drop over dead."

Drive for Competitiveness: There's "a renewed emphasis on being more than competitive with the Japanese and the Germans," especially when it comes to the auto industry.

Weak Dollar: "Right now with the dollar where it is and American wage rates where they are, there is no excuse not to manufacture in the United States."

Couldn't have said it better myself.

What's going on here is that from the first day of kindergarten, children are pushed towards college. There's nothing wrong with encouraging kids in that direction, but college is not for everyone. Some can't afford it, some aren't suited for it, and others just don't want to do it.

Perhaps there are some who see America as the "world's employer". We become a nation of financiers, and the Third Worlders become our labourers. This is an utterly ridiculous idea.

Basically, being a financier means shifting money around and living on credit. The current state of the economy shows how impossible this is. A nation must be a producer or it cannot survive. The United States has ceased being a producer, and as a result, it is crumbling.

Also, consider any large corporation. What is the ratio of management to labour? Ten to one? Twenty to one? Maybe more, depending on the company. There are far more labour positions than management. So how can we possibly find jobs for all Americans if the idea is that Americans are supposed to all be management?

Today's unemployment crisis proves this entire idea is crazy. There are simply not enough high-skilled jobs open for scientists, engineers, lawyers, and the like for everyone. Bringing in unskilled foreign labour is not the answer because that will still leave millions of Americans, both with and without college degrees that are out of work, which is exactly what is happening today.

The only solution to our current economic and employment problems is to reopen our factories. Bring our jobs home from overseas and start producing our own goods again. That's what made this country great, and by closing down the factories we have all but destroyed it.

National Socialism would bring our jobs home and reopen the factories. Many of our critics would say, "Yeah? And just how could you possibly accomplish this?" The answer is easy. First of all, our critics ask how we could do this, but they are forgetting something. This country is Capitalist. That basically means you are free to make as much money any way you can, with certain limits. You can't sell drugs, nuclear weapons, things like that.

Under National Socialism, this country wouldn't be Capitalist. You wouldn't be free to "make" money with wheeling and dealing, money shifting, and other financial tricks. You'd have to earn it with hard, honest work under National Socialist law.

For example, the government would make strict regulations as to what businessmen could or could not do. It would stop outsourcing by making it illegal to do so, plain and simple. It would make it the law that American citizens get first shot at all jobs, even if there are more qualified foreign workers who would work for less. Our people, meaning the White Working Class would come first in all things. Good jobs at fair wages. If the big businessmen don't like it, then they'll find their businesses nationalised, and they'll be out of luck.

Now I'm not saying there will be no free enterprise. That's what built America. If you worked hard, saved enough money to start a business, or arranged a business loan, and you wanted to open a restaurant, a store, a bar, or whatever, that's fine. But if you do, you had better treat your employees fairly, and charge only reasonable prices for your goods or services, or you too will be out of luck.

People are greedy and selfish by nature. Unlimited Judeo-Capitalism only serves to allow greed and selfishness to run wild. The only answer is National Socialism. National Socialism will protect the future of our country, our economy, and our race. The ANP embraces the true spirit of 21st Century American National Socialism. None of these other groups do. Some are just plain hatemongers. Others are internet clubs. Still others are trying to resurrect a bygone age that will never come again.

It's true we should never forget our National Socialist past. But the Third Reich is gone, and will not rise again. The ANP looks to the future, not the past. Hail Victory!

Thanks again to Comrade Dr. Johann Hauptman for this story.

Dan 88!
