Alabama House Passes E-Verify Bill

The Alabama House overwhelmingly passed, 73-to-28, an E-Verify measure on Tuesday that requires all businesses to check new hires through the system. The bill also allows police officers to check the immigration status of individuals detained or arrested and requires verification of citizenship before receiving public services.

The bill now moves to the state Senate for its consideration.

"We cannot allow Alabama to become a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants," Rep. Micky Hammon, a Republican who sponsored the bill, told the House.

The bill received much resistance from pro-amnesty groups, including some major business organizations, but the margin of the vote sent a clear message of the House's commitment to ending illegal immigration in the state.

Comrades, we all know the only real way to deal with illegal immigrants is to deport them to their native lands. There are ways around the E-Verify Laws. One way is for a company contracted by the state, can subcontract parts of the job out to other companies. Those companies are not subject to E-Verify, unless the state went to the trouble to close that loophole.
I am uncertain as to whether Alabama did or not. Probably not.

But there is one thing the passage of these laws is showing. People are fed up with illegals flaunting our laws, and taking our jobs. Once upon a time, it was true that illegals only did jobs Americans didn't want. Not so any more. Illegals dominate the construction industry here in California. There are many illegals doing janitorial work. Don't say Americans won't do janitorial work because it's not true - especially these days. My favourite uncle is a janitor. Part of my duties where I work are janitorial in nature. Once, illegals only took jobs Americans didn't want, but that's no longer the case.

If it were not for illegals, there would be ten million fewer unemployed Americans. People have had enough. If our leaders won't do what must be done, they may find that they won't be leaders much longer.
